The Village of Addison’s combined committees approved Aug. 19 minutes, ratified accounts-payable directives and authorized a series of public-works contracts at their Sept. 3 meeting.
The committees approved three accounts-payable directives: No. 25-25 for $661,901.25, No. 25-26 for $650,560.32 and No. 25-27 for $832,729.75. Staff reported the village’s gross payroll for August was $3,165,103.03. An earlier adjustment (directive No. 25-24), previously listed at $2,370,395.86, was reduced by $16,710.66 to $2,353,685.20 before approval.
Staff recommended and the committees approved awarding bid 24-8-1 to Salston/Stelson Construction Company, Inc. of Chicago for the East Portico staircase replacement at $197,300, to be paid from the public building fund (account 440.9944‑4404). “Salston Construction being the most lowest, most responsible bid,” staff told the committee when recommending the award and said references and past performance were checked.
The committees also approved two lighting procurements for the village’s roadway and inventory needs. Production Distribution (Chicago) was recommended as the low, responsible bidder for spare Cree-brand LED streetlight fixtures to build inventory (bid 24-6-2) in an amount not to exceed $84,411.21 (account 100.251‑4206). For the roadway lighting conversion, Production Distribution was also the low bidder for American Electric–brand LED fixtures (bid 24-6-3) at $126,200.25; staff said the purchase is expected to generate a vendor rebate of about $27,000.
A one‑year contract extension to complete ornamental streetlight pole painting (bid 21-11-2) was approved for an amount not to exceed $30,000 (account 100.251‑4180).
All items in this article were presented by staff to the committee and approved by motion and voice vote; the committee reported no objections.
Next steps: the committee approvals were forwarded to the village board as part of the consent agenda, where the board approved the consent package by roll call later the same evening.
