Commission forwards exterior renovation plan for 1260 Andes Boulevard with conditions

Project representatives Gary Klein (HDA Architects) and Tom Bueser (KCI Construction) presented a minor site plan to update the exterior of 1260 Andes Boulevard: repaint brick, add a canopy and vestibule, install a new trash enclosure and update landscaping. Klein described the design intent and color palette; Bueser noted the canopy will create an outdoor gathering area for employees.
City planner Bethany Moore described required landscape updates, replacement of missing street trees, a fully enclosed trash area and a condition that the trash enclosure material be wood or neutral-colored solid vinyl rather than exposed hardy board. Staff said the proposal does not add square footage and that the parking lot will be resealed and restriped as part of conditions. A nearby property owner, David Caldwell, spoke in favor while asking about lighting and the offset of green space.
A commissioner moved to recommend approval of application 24-021 subject to the conditions contained in the staff report; the commission voted aye and approved the recommendation to council.
