At a regular meeting on Oct. 2, 2024, the Evansville Police Department Pension Board approved two applicant packets and denied a third, approved Sept. 11 meeting minutes, reviewed payroll figures and set its next meeting for Nov. 13, 2024.
The board acknowledged three applicant packets submitted via Sergeant Dexter Wolf. "Make a motion to approve applicant 24 1 19 in applicant 24 0 6 0," the motion as recorded stated; the motion also included a proposal "to deny applicant 24 0 5." The motion was recorded as made by "member Breivogel" and seconded by member Brian Underwood. The board approved the motion by voice vote and the chair declared the motion passed.
The minutes from the Sept. 11 meeting were presented and approved by voice vote after one member moved to approve and another seconded the motion.
In a financial update, the secretary reported that the 1925 fund payroll for Sept. 15 and Sept. 30 were the same and that there were no deaths to report. The payroll amount was read in the meeting as "$243,117.62 each." The record does not specify whether "each" refers to individual payroll draws, separate payroll cycles, or another breakdown.
The board did not raise any items under old or new business and reported no retirements or resignations at this time. The secretary announced the next regular meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, in Room 307 of the Subject Center Plaza at 8:15 a.m.
A motion to adjourn was made, seconded by member Phil Smith, approved by voice vote and the meeting was closed at 8:33 a.m.
