Grant County approves ARPA release of roughly $80,008 for Simmons tile emergency repair

Grant County commissioners voted on Sept. 16 to approve an emergency release of ARPA-designated funds to repair the Simmons tile.
Commissioner Bardsley presented the drainage board’s recommendation to use the remaining ARPA allocation for water projects to complete emergency work on the Simmons tile and moved that the county release the funds. The motion, seconded by Commissioner Wright, was approved by voice vote. The chair announced “It is approved.”
Bardsley said the drainage board had already spent most of the original $200,000 ARPA allocation on weed-and-spray programs and that the Simmons tile emergency request would exhaust the remaining balance (Bardsley cited a balance of about $80,815.40 and stated the recommended release amount as $80,008.15). Commissioners did not request further amendment language; the vote authorized the drainage board to proceed.
Next steps: staff will authorize the drainage board to coordinate the emergency repairs and document expenditures for ARPA reporting and audit.
