The highway commissioner noted prior pedestrian conflicts in the corridor and recommended careful placement; staff and members favored mid‑block RRFBs because conflict points at intersections and nearby driveways could complicate operation.
Staff confirmed the RRFB installations are included in the 2025 budget. Because the project is estimated to exceed the village’s small‑purchase threshold, staff said formal engineering plans and a competitive bid will be required. Committee members asked staff to revisit the study done previously by an outside consultant and to include consultant recommendations in final design.
