PUC elects new president and vice president; approves consent items and two contract amendments

At its Oct. 10 meeting the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission completed its annual election of officers and acted on several consent items.
Nominations for president closed with a nomination for Ike Kwon; the commission voted by voice and the ayes carried. Outgoing President Moran received thanks from commissioners and staff during the ceremonial passing of the gavel.
The commission then nominated and elected Commissioner Vince Courtney as vice president; the vote was taken in absentia and the commission offered congratulations.
On the consent calendar, the commission approved the minutes of the Sept. 26 meeting and then approved the consent calendar by voice vote. Staff noted a written public comment from Alvin Jah for item 9A had been provided in the public binder.
On item-specific consent actions, the commission authorized Amendment No. 1 to agreement CS-298 to extend the term by two years, three months and 11 days for conservation easement planning and associated land-control tasks. The commission also approved Amendment No. 1 to agreement CS-1053, increasing the agreement by $150,000 and extending time by 1 year and 8 months to support interpretive and archeological monitoring and consultation with a Muwekma representative regarding cultural resources and human remains discovered during excavation.
