County recognizes employees in 'Walking Montana' wellness program; winners receive prizes

County wellness staff presented results from the employee Walking Montana program and conducted prize drawings during the Sept. 24 meeting.
Program coordinators (Wendy and Casey) reported 21 prizes and noted this year’s participation was the highest on record: 77% of participants completed the program (a 15% increase over last year), and participants averaged 331 miles walked during the three-month challenge. Sponsors named in the presentation included Marsh McLellan Agency, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana, Intermountain Health, Metropark and Levitt Group; Alliant health consultants donated three $100 gift cards annually for drawings.
Commissioners drew winners for several gift cards and prizes including a wet/dry shop vac, popcorn maker with Starbucks card, smartwatches, a 24-inch TV, LED pickleball sets, flashlights, a mini donut maker, BlendJet with Starbucks gift card and $100 Visa cards. County staff and spouses were among prize recipients.
The wellness team said they anticipate wellness screenings will resume in November or December after a scheduling issue is resolved.
