Citizens Advisory Committee reports increased engagement and resolutions on Southeast priorities

Wendy Aragon, chair of the SFPUC Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), briefed commissioners on the CAC''''''''''s past year of activity and priorities for 2018.
Aragon said the CAC has 16 of 17 seats filled and highlighted three resolutions adopted this fiscal year, including recommendations on southeast community facility stewardship and collection system strategy; she said staff had provided written responses and that the CAC would continue oversight of responses. The CAC also hosted a joint meeting with the Southeast Community Facility Commission with more than 60 attendees and presented a capstone project by City Works interns.
Aragon emphasized outreach and partnerships, including working with new CAC members who represent Districts 6 and 7 and a mayoral seat for a large water user. She said the CAC is tracking resolution responses, preparing for CAC elections in January, and continuing efforts around water and sewer rates, affordability, stormwater management, clean power and equity in employee implementation.
The commission thanked Aragon for the report and for the CAC''''''''s engagement in community events and youth workforce development.
