Port approves consent items including dredging and shoreline protection contracts

The Port of San Francisco Commission approved multiple consent items, including competitive bidding and contract awards for waterfront projects, during its meeting.

Commissioners voted to authorize staff to advertise for competitive bids for Contract 2745, the Hyde Street Harbor joint operations and security building project. The commission also approved staff’s recommendation to award construction contract 2746 — a five‑year maintenance dredging project — to Dutura Dredging Company in an initial amount of $4,000,000, with a 10% contingency ($400,000) and authority to increase the contract amount to a sum not to exceed $15,000,901.50 inclusive of contingency. The commission approved authorization to award construction contract 2732R (Mission Bay Shoreline Protection for Bayfront Park) to the firm listed in the staff report — transcribed as “firmer corporation” — for up to $1,579,450, with a 10% contingency ($157,945).

A motion and second were made and the consent calendar passed by voice vote; the clerk reported the passage of Resolutions 11‑24, 11‑25 and 11‑26 as part of consent approval.

The items approved on the consent calendar were introduced on the staff report, which included standard contingency language and instructions that increases be subject to available funding and appropriate authorizations from Port staff.
