Votes at a glance: Zion council approves minutes, bills, treasurer's report and enters closed session

At its Oct. 15 meeting the Zion City Council recorded several procedural and routine votes:

• Minutes — Council approved minutes of the Oct. 1, 2024 meeting (motion by Commissioner Fisher; second by Commissioner Holmes). The clerk called the roll and the motion carried unanimously ("4 to zip").
• Bills — Council approved bills as presented; the transcript lists a dollar figure of $962,369.25 but several voucher figures in the spoken record are garbled and not fully legible. A motion to approve the bills passed by unanimous roll call.
• Treasurer's report — Council voted to receive and place on file the treasurer's report for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2024; the motion carried unanimously.
• Closed session — Council moved into closed session under 5 ILCS 120/2 to discuss threatened or probable litigation, collective bargaining, purchase or sale of real estate, personnel and pending litigation; the motion was made by Commissioner Fisher, seconded, and carried.
