The board voted to award a $112,295 contract to Cobestine Contracting Inc. for the US 41 DES 2000987 waterline relocation project (project U1236), a recommendation presented by Jennifer Kane. Jennifer said staff received four bids at the Sept. 3 meeting, reviewed them with the designer Clark Dietz, and found all required documents in compliance. "The collective MBEWBE participation was 2.23%," she said. The award was approved by voice vote.
The board opened bids for the East Mill and Weaver Road 8-inch water main replacement (project U1191). "This project's located on the North Side and will install approximately 3,000 linear feet of 8 inch water main, and we'll entertain the bids," Jennifer said. Bids announced at the meeting included Dijk Brothers ($1,445,542), Blankenburger Brothers ($1,078,450), Infrastructure Systems Inc. ($1,205,945), Sam Trucking & Excavating Inc.
