Four student board members sworn in; students report on homecoming, campus programs and college access

Jacob Whitley, representing Foothill High School and serving as ASB president, described a full homecoming week that included a stadium rally, parade, multiple sporting events and the homecoming dance. Manmeet Rai of Highlands High School highlighted a new cheer coach, a recently opened shade structure, a successful alumni celebration and plans to revamp the HHS Museum. Destiny Griffin, associate student body president at Grant Union High School, summarized Grant’s homecoming events, a robust club rush, and participation in the UCAN college fair that yielded on-the-spot acceptances and scholarship offers. Kennedy Edmond of Rio Linda said she looks forward to learning from trustees and contributing student perspectives to board discussions.
The board congratulated the students, noted upcoming student activities and asked that newly sworn student members sign required documentation before leaving. The student reports emphasized school-community engagement and student leadership priorities for the year.
