The Sutherlin City Council voted unanimously to adopt Resolution 2024.21, a supplemental budget adjustment to increase the general‑fund loan to urban renewal connected to the 311 West East Central property.
Finance Director Tammy Trowbridge explained the adjustment is necessary because the city previously did not plan to increase the general‑fund loan to urban renewal when the budget was prepared; since then the council approved moving forward with an urban renewal loan for the property and additional purchase opportunities have arisen. Trowbridge said the adjustment allows the city side of the budget to accommodate the increased loan while the urban renewal appropriation was already set on that side.
The public hearing was opened and closed with no public comment. Council moved and seconded the resolution and recorded roll‑call votes in the affirmative; the motion carried. Staff will implement the budget change and post the updated budget documents as required.
