Port Commission approves amendment to sidewalk/airspace encroachment policy (Resolution 1112)

Reynolds said the policy change affects a small area — approximately four blocks — and that affected buildings are not on port property although the sidewalk is. She told commissioners the change was intended to reduce duplication and confusion for building owners who otherwise must apply to multiple city departments; staff estimated there are six current encroachment permits and the monthly financial impact from removing the airspace permit requirement would be less than $2,000.
The motion to approve the amendment was moved and seconded; there was no public comment and the Commission approved the resolution by voice vote. The transcript records the body’s action as "Resolution 1112 has been approved."
