Addison resident urges action after repeated speeding on Myrick and La Porte

"And many times, people are exceeding 25 miles an hour," Mills said, describing occasions when drivers have sped through the neighborhood and a recent incident in which a woman "going faster than the speed limit slammed on her brakes" and "hon ked at a kid that was crossing the street." He told the board his bedroom sits on the corner of La Porte and Myrick and that vehicles sometimes wake him between about 2 and 4 a.m.
Mills said he has observed officers respond quickly to prior reports but that the problem persists. He asked whether the village can do anything—such as increased enforcement or traffic-calming measures—and said neighbors would support additional action.
The board did not record any immediate directive or formal motion in response during the meeting; the comment was received during the audience-participation portion of the agenda.
