Port Commission approves several resolutions, hears staff reports and public comments

The Port Commission approved a number of routine and substantive items, heard staff briefings and received public comment.
On the consent calendar commissioners authorized advertisement for competitive bids on the Roundhouse 2 HVAC retrofit project (construction contract no. 2744). The Commission then approved a resolution to disclose that it had voted in executive session to support the settlement in Christianson v. City and County of San Francisco and otherwise declined to disclose executive-session matters.
The Commission approved nominations and reappointments to the Port Building Code Review Board for five members, including Gary Hoy, Segeev Wieseishi (new nominee), Hanson Tom, Joy Navarette and Bradley J. Wilson. It also approved an eight-year restaurant lease extension (L14887) with Sitting By Doing, doing business as High Dive, at Pier 28.5. Port Leasing Manager Jeffrey Ballard described prior tenant investments and ADA upgrades and staff said the sole-source extension would give the tenant additional term to amortize improvements; commissioners approved the lease by voice vote.
Staff used the executive director’s report to recognize longtime Port employee John Holt on his retirement and to highlight a Warm Water Cove volunteer cleanup held January 22 with community partners and donors. A public commenter representing the Mission Creek Conservancy announced publication of a new edition of Vanished Waters, a local history book, and presented a copy to the Port.
All recorded resolutions on the meeting’s agenda were approved by voice vote. The Commission adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
