Trustee Mason noted additional funding was necessary after the village assumed control of road district assets; Director Sawyers and village staff explained the $1.5 million figure used in levy calculations and confirmed auditors will book the levy as a receivable and deferred revenue for accounting purposes, with cash collections occurring the following fiscal year.
Separately, the board approved Resolution 24‑0118 to ratify a multi‑year collective bargaining agreement with IUOE Local 150. Trustees thanked staff and counsel for prolonged negotiations and requested a small form edit to clarify compensatory time language (attorney review confirmed the draft would be updated as to form). "The ordinance specifies that we have the ability to make some modifications... subject to form only," the village attorney said.
Trustees approved both measures by roll call. Board members asked that staff continue transparent budget reporting on how levy proceeds and general‑fund transfers support public‑works operations.
