Jeff Hartman, Creve Coeur police chief, explained that the department’s organizational chart includes a position detached full time to the academy; the current officer in the assignment is John Zuckerman and the plan is to continue that assignment for 2025. "The county reimburses Officer Zuckerman's salary and direct benefits, including up to $20,000 in overtime costs while he's assigned to the academy," Hartman said. He described the assignment as beneficial for department recruitment and partnerships with the county academy.
The chief invited questions; none were raised at the meeting. Staff indicated the item would be returned for final approval at the next meeting.
