Officials urge residents to report vandalism at White Deer Run as summer mischief continues

Trustee Takooka and others relayed reports of kids riding bikes on greens, damage to restroom facilities and other costly mischief. Police staff said the department has coordinated messaging with the park district, the HOA and partner agencies, and that the village has an escalating enforcement toolkit ranging from warnings and municipal citations to restitution and, in serious cases, criminal charges.
Police asked residents to call 911 when they see suspicious activity and explained that restitution can be ordered by the municipal hearing process or by Lake County courts when appropriate. Staff said signage, HOA communication and a single coordinated message to the White Deer Run community had been prepared and shared across village platforms.
