Commission backs rezoning at 1501 N. Green River Road for medical office tenant

The Evansville Area Plan Commission voted 9–0 Aug. 1 to recommend rezoning a property at 1501 North Green River Road from M2 (general industrial) to M1 (light industrial/commercial) to permit a professional medical office tenant. The recommendation will be forwarded to Evansville City Council for final consideration.
Attorney Laura Scott, representing the property owner identified in the record, said the proposed tenant is Maxim Healthcare Services, a home-health and medical staffing company, and that the location would host roughly 10 administrative employees. “There will be 10 employees that will be operating out of this location,” Scott said.
Staff told the commission that no site modifications are planned and that the proposed change is consistent with the comprehensive plan’s commercial land-use designation for the parcel. With no remonstrators, commissioners moved and seconded a recommendation for approval and recorded nine votes in favor.
The commission’s recommendation is advisory and the city council will take the final action at its Aug. 26 meeting.
