Deputy township attorney Jennifer Eugene told the Hamilton Township budget workshop on April 8 that the township moved municipal prosecutors from payroll to contract via an RFP last year and set a per-session rate of $350 to include both preparation and court time. “We had to raise our rate to $350 per session,” Eugene said, noting the change was intended to keep the township competitive and that prosecutors now cover about 10 sessions per week under the contract.
