Subcommittee narrows frame styles and agrees on wayfinding approach for public meeting rooms

The subcommittee discussed frame profiles, matting and wayfinding strategy for gallery walls and public meeting rooms. DI presented three frame sizes to match image scale and proposed a thinner profile for small images and a medium and large for larger prints. The committee generally supported thinner frames for small photos but objected to a glossy gold finish on one sample and asked DI to source a less‑bright color that matches the previously approved frame for public meeting rooms.

On wayfinding, DI proposed maintaining the label 'Public Meeting Room' as part of the approved signage package and adding a curved basin name above it (examples: North Platte River Basin, Wind River Basin) to create a thematic identifier without replacing the functional numbering. The curved treatment, DI said, echoes the building’s arch motifs and allows room names to be prominent while preserving the clarity of the existing public meeting room labels.

Committee members asked for renderings to check perceived mounting heights and how labels appear in context; DI agreed to provide file‑stage renderings, mockups of the frame samples and a smaller physical sample of the thinnest profile for committee review.

Next steps: DI will return with toned‑down gold samples, a less glossy finish option and renderings that show frame placement in the actual spaces before final production.
