Kyle resident urges city to address overgrown parcel and retention pond behind Woodlands Park

During the citizen comment period, Mrs. Rivera of the Woodlands Park neighborhood told the council she has spent five years trying to determine who is responsible for maintaining a heavily overgrown parcel behind the neighborhood along County Road 158.
"I keep getting told it's private property. Well, we found out that recently according to CAD, it's not private property and it should have been taken care of," she said. She described brush and debris left on the west side of Woodlands Drive and said the east side needs additional clearing. Mrs. Rivera said there is a retention pond on the parcel that is so overgrown "my neighbors can smell it" and that "their animals are being driven crazy by it and there's all kinds of vermin and animals coming out of that." She said she will email Mr. Lopez from Parks, send photos and copy Councilmember Zuniga.
Mrs. Rivera said she has been working with Councilmember Zuniga, and she asked that city staff check the parcel and follow up with the neighborhood. The presiding officer closed public comments after no other residents came forward.
