Tazewell County board issues proclamations for Hunger Action Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month

On domestic violence, Carol (introduced as CEO of the Center for Prevention and Abuse) and Mary Pinter (coordinator for the Family Violence Coordinating Council) described the center's nearly 50 years of service, 24/7 operations and partnerships across law enforcement, courts and community programs. The board read a proclamation "recognizing October 2024 as domestic violence awareness month in Tazewell County," and speakers urged the community to support survivors and the agencies that assist them.
Both proclamations were presented for awareness and community partnership; no county funding decisions were made during this agenda item.
