The Evansville Common Council convened on Sept. 9, approved the Aug. 26 meeting memorandum (motion by Councilman Brinkmeyer; second by Councilwoman Allen), and acknowledged reports and communications (motion by Councilwoman Mosby; second by Councilman Trotman). The clerk announced the consent agenda and the council adopted it following a motion by Councilwoman Mosby and a second by Councilman Brinkmeyer.
The meeting's substantive items included a first reading of ordinance F 2024-11 on proposed allocations from opioid settlement funds and presentations by local providers and public-safety officials. City Controller Robert Gunter also distributed schedules for potential park and redevelopment bonds and introduced bond counsel and financial advisers for future discussion. No final votes were taken on the opioid ordinance or on bond issuance at the session.
With no further business, Councilwoman Mosby moved to adjourn, Councilman Trotman seconded, and the council voted to adjourn at 5:54 p.m.
