On capital work and safety, Telemantez said the group is pursuing lighting upgrades for alleys and storefronts and working with local partners on repainted and powder‑coated bike racks. She also announced that construction on the Oaks Hotel rehabilitation (a phase tied to a 2023 grant) had started the previous week, and staff are preparing applications for the next Main Street grant cycle (a potential $400,000 grant through Oregon Main Street in 2025).
Council thanked the presenters and asked clarifying questions about board composition and partnerships. Telemantez provided roster details for new members and noted collaboration with the college and Columbia Community Connections for a planned downtown podcast.
