Commissioners recognize long-serving county staff and retirees

The Yellowstone County Commissioners used part of the June 25 meeting to recognize long-serving staff members.
Chair introduced Margaret Gallagher from the County Attorney's Office and noted her 30 years of service; colleagues including Ed Zink praised Gallagher's legal work and advocacy for vulnerable older residents. Gallagher thanked colleagues and referenced the benefits and support she has received.
The commission also recognized Larry Williams of the Yellowstone County Detention Facility for 10 years overseeing services and volunteer coordination. Williams described volunteer-run programs including Bible studies and substance-abuse meetings and said those programs help reduce tensions and incidents in units.
The chair also noted recent retirements: Linda Spang from the youth service center with 22 years of service, Mike Lechner (20 years) from the youth service center and Ed Roby from the Clerk of Court with 10 years.
