Commissioners open and refer multiple construction and design bids to staff

Yellowstone County commissioners opened and acknowledged multiple procurement packages on June 25 and voted to refer the RFQs/RFPs to staff for recommendation back to the commission.
The meeting opened submissions for the county short-term detention facility general-contractor RFQ/RFP; staff announced responses from Swank Enterprises, Hardy Construction and Sletten Construction. Commissioner (Speaker 3) moved to refer the RFQ/RFP to staff for evaluation and a recommendation; the motion passed by voice vote.
The board also opened RFQs for design, construction engineering and construction management for the Lockwood sidewalk project. Design proposals were recorded from Sanderson Stewart, WWC Engineering and Dow Engineering; commissioners voted to refer those proposals to staff for recommendation.
For the 50 Sixth Street West and Hesper Road roundabout, staff read base bids and addenda totals for multiple bidders: Riverside Contracting ($1,654,788.50), Knife River ($1,115,700), Weave Construction ($1,652,857), Askins Construction ($1,285,205) and K2 Civil Inc. ($1,098,528). The commission moved to refer the bid packages to staff for recommendation.
No contract awards were made at the meeting; staff will return with recommendations.
