County opens FY24–25 budget hearings; decisions moved to next week

Chair opened the public hearing on Resolution 2,459 to adopt the fiscal year 2024–25 budget and set special district levies. County staff (Jen) described these hearings as the first of two required steps and reminded commissioners and the public that "you won't vote on them today" and that formal action is scheduled for next Tuesday.
The board then opened a related public hearing on Resolution 24 123 to amend the FY24 regular budget and the FY24–25 grant budgets for federal and state grants. No members of the public spoke; the board closed that hearing and likewise moved the item to next week for action.
What’s next: Staff will prepare materials for next Tuesday’s meeting when commissioners will consider final adoption of the FY2024–25 budget, setting special district levies, and finalizing grant budget amendments.
