Sam Harvey, the Commission’s Outreach and Education Officer, told commissioners the office has adopted new digital strategies — slideshow videos, tagging partner agencies and topical posts — to boost engagement and help public servants access ethics resources.
Harvey said the manual has been released and that social posts about the manual are producing engagement. He reported approximately 197 active users on the Nevada Ethics Online platform, 63 courses completed and about 42 people trained in live sessions since the prior report. Harvey described a partnership with the Nevada Gaming Control Board that enrolled 391 users; as of Aug. 12 he said about 14% of that group had completed training.
Commissioners discussed opportunities to scale content for larger training venues. Commissioner Olsen suggested creating 30‑minute overview sessions to reach police and fire academy classes; Harvey said the staff could deliver shortened modules and noted measurement and certification would be addressed on the back end. Several commissioners praised Harvey’s outreach strategies and encouraged use of existing commissioner networks to broaden reach.
Commissioner Moran moved to direct the outreach and education officer to take actions related to outreach and education efforts as discussed; Commissioner Reynolds seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
