District bond staff provided the board a monthly update on capital projects, curriculum and technology investments funded by the recently passed bond.
Bond leadership said pre-design estimates for new park-style restrooms at Tigard and Tualatin High Schools came in under the bond-approved amount; the projects are approved to proceed to design with a target to complete bid and permit packages by February and break ground in June 2026. The Deer Creek infrastructure and security project was re-scoped to base bond-approved language and is also within construction budget; staff said the timeline is aggressive but achievable during the summer construction window.
Tualatin field lighting is in contract process with a likely spring-break installation. Bond staff also highlighted non-capital components of the measure: about $20 million for new language-arts curriculum (Spanish and English) and about $40 million for technology. The technology work replaced devices in middle schools, provided new devices at three elementary schools—benefiting roughly 4,600 students—and purchased Chromebooks for approximately 950 incoming ninth graders.
Bond staff said a Bond Oversight Committee is being convened and interviews have occurred; members will be recommended to the board for formal appointment.
