Residents raise complaints about clogged alley sewers and vehicle seizures during public comment

During the public-comment portion of the meeting, Danny Adams of 434 South Michael Street described persistent problems with two sewers in his alley, saying one drain is clogged and the other appears to have caving brickwork. Adams said the city historically repaired such problems and asked that staff inspect and fix the drains to prevent winter ice and runoff that currently reaches the highway and neighboring driveways.
Later, Kyle Beimel of 712 Hall Avenue said his house burned a year ago and that every vehicle on his property had been removed by the city. He asked if the council could show leniency or explain extenuating circumstances related to towing or storage. The council stated it could not comment because of possible litigation, per solicitor instruction.
Council members asked staff to look into the drainage complaint and noted they were constrained from discussing active legal matters in public.
