CRESCENT CITY, Calif. — The Crescent City City Council proclaimed Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, as National Night Out in Crescent City and invited residents to participate in a community crime-prevention event led by the police department.
Mayor Pro Tem read the proclamation during the meeting and city representatives and volunteers described activities planned for the event: bounce houses, raffle prizes, live music, food, backpacks, bicycle donations and a possible demonstration/landing by a life-flight helicopter. Staff thanked donors including Walmart for in-kind contributions and encouraged residents to attend and meet emergency-service personnel.
The proclamation describes National Night Out as "a unique opportunity for the city of Crescent City to join thousands of other communities in promoting cooperative police-community crime-prevention efforts." The council formally recorded the proclamation and encouraged public participation.
