The Georgetown City Council voted unanimously Monday to annex two small parcels at or around 1938 and 2020 Frankfort Road into the city's limits and to change their zoning from A‑1 agricultural to B‑2 highway commercial.
The clerk read the second reading of the annexation ordinance, which describes approximately 0.8 and 0.9 acres (Scott County PVA parcel numbers 112‑40‑025 and 113‑20‑003) being annexed into Georgetown by written consent of the property owners under Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS) 81A.412. Councilmember Tammy Lesby Mitchell moved the ordinance, and Councilmember Minky seconded. The roll call vote was recorded as unanimous and the motion passed 6–0.
Council subsequently considered a companion zoning ordinance that conditions the B‑2 classification on passage and publication of the annexation. That measure was moved by Councilmember Minky and seconded by Mitchell and likewise passed by roll call vote.
City staff told the council the full ordinance texts are available at the city clerk's office and on the city's website. The ordinances provide for repeal of inconsistent laws and state the effective date will follow passage and publication.
No public speakers objected during the ordinance readings. Council members did not request additional conditions or amendments during the second‑reading proceedings.
The ordinance and zone change will become effective as provided in the ordinances once published, and the city clerk's office will retain the official versions for public review.
