Board reviews draft library procedures, renews KPM engagement and tables park restroom bid

During its March meeting the Bolivar R‑I School District board reviewed a newly drafted library procedures manual that aligns with policy KLB and administrative procedure AP1 and includes selection criteria, evaluation sources and a glossary. Librarians asked trustees to review highlighted revisions and provide feedback before staff returns in April for formal consideration.
District staff also presented a recommended engagement agreement with auditors KPM CPAs that would permit KPM to perform audits and be on‑site this summer. The board discussed the timeline and whether the agreement commits the district for the full three‑year term; staff clarified the agreement allows audits for up to three years but the district may rebid services later. The board approved the engagement agreement by voice vote.
Separately, after initial discussion of bond projects and a park restroom bid, trustees agreed to table the restroom bid to the next business meeting to allow additional review and answers to outstanding questions.
Next steps: Board members are asked to submit feedback on the draft library procedures in advance of April’s meeting; staff will allow KPM to begin audit work for the current fiscal year and will return the restroom bid for reconsideration at the next meeting.
