Separately, the board approved a district‑wide wireless infrastructure upgrade. Technology staff reported the project total is $235,081.40; because E‑Rate is expected to cover approximately 85 percent, the district’s budgeted share is $35,252.76. The vendor and E‑Rate paperwork require the full project amount on purchase orders, but trustees emphasized the net local outlay will be the smaller, budgeted figure; the motion passed 7–0. Staff said the upgrade covers equipment, installation, and five years of managed services and will replace recurring monitoring costs the district currently pays (~$30,000/year), yielding multi‑year savings.
