School board approves workshop agenda, moves into closed session under Virginia code

Dr. Taylor read the motion recommending entry into closed session "pursuant to Virginia codes 2.2-3711(A)(1) and 2.2-3711(A)(4) for discussion consideration of prospective candidates for employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, disciplining, or resignation of specific public officers, appointees, or employees of the school board; 2.2-3711(A)(7) to consult with legal counsel and briefings by staff members pertaining to actual or probable litigation; and 2.2-254(B)(1) to authorize exemption from compulsory attendance." The motion, seconded by Miss Wade, was approved after members voted aloud "Aye," and the board confirmed it was in closed session.
