Resident seeks records, questions city process for 7555 Old Auburn Road lease

She said a portion of the parcel was treated as ‘not necessary’ and subsequently negotiated for lease with a nonprofit, and she asked why an RFP process was not used and whether the arrangement might constitute an improper gift of public funds.
Wilkie said she will submit a public records request and is seeking copies of council communications and notices showing compliance with state surplus property rules. She urged the council to ensure the process is transparent and, if the record shows noncompliance, to consider re-opening the disposition process.
