Orono school board approves consent agenda, schedules next regular meeting

The Orono Public School District board approved its consent agenda at the Aug. 11 meeting, adopting routine items that included minutes from the June 9, 2025 regular meeting; personnel recommendations; a memorandum of understanding with Service Employees International Union covering child nutrition and preschool staff; wages for substitutes, test proctors, summer grounds workers and athletic coaches for the 2025–26 school year; and acceptance of donations totaling $136,692.62.
A motion to approve the consent agenda was made and seconded, and the board approved it by voice vote with no opposition or abstentions recorded. The consent slate also authorized the district’s Local Educational Agency representative, approved the Minnesota Department of Education statement of assurances, accepted the superintendent’s end-of-year summary, and approved continued memberships and voucher processing items.
Board members confirmed the next regular meeting will be Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the District Office Assembly Room. A motion to adjourn later in the meeting was moved, seconded and passed.
Actions recorded in the meeting minutes indicate routine approval rather than separate roll-call votes on the individual consent items. No board member identified a single consent item for separate discussion during the meeting.
