The Glendale Elementary School District Governing Board on July 24 approved revisions to its electronic-device policy, IJNDB, and an accompanying regulation intended to bring district procedures into alignment with House Bill 2484 and to have rules in place before the Aug. 4 start of school.
Board members voted to suspend Policy BGB so the technology-policy revisions could be adopted immediately. The motion to approve IJNDB on first and second readings passed with Miss Wilson, Miss Bartels and President Martinez voting aye.
A district administrator who led the review told the board that a 12-member behavioral health and safety committee of parents, teachers, principals and district administrators met in June and July to examine the district’s existing procedures, review language in House Bill 2484 and consult examples from other districts.
