Volunteers and committee members led the year‑plus process, visiting schools, the historical society and the library and producing more than 75 designs for consideration, board members said. "The people of Shelton decided whether or not to have a flag and the people of Shelton decided which flag to have," one board member said, thanking volunteer Joe Ciccone and other participants for their time.
