During the Aug. 4 meeting the city manager reported that owners of 175 South Mag paid administrative fines totaling $77,600; the city received a wire payment on July 22 and released the lien, clearing the way for the property transaction that had been at issue. Staff said costs incurred during enforcement were reimbursed by the payment; the item was informational and required no council action.
Council members and Police Chief Jason Brogan promoted National Night Out events scheduled for the next evening. Brogan said officers, fire personnel and council members plan to visit eight neighborhood events to meet residents; staff listed locations and a morning briefing time for participating officers.
Council also announced the Aug. 18 meeting was canceled and set the next regular meeting for Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Berrios is expected to attend the Sept. 2 meeting.
