Ranch Heights construction on track; district previews summer site projects

District staff told the Bartlesville School Board that the Ranch Heights construction project is in a good place following recent punch walks of the safe room and classrooms. The superintendent and project team said the layout closely matches Wayside and that lessons learned reduced punch-list items. The schedule was adjusted to pull the elevator start date forward to improve delivery timing.
Staff said site work was expected to start, beginning in a courtyard area and working counterclockwise before moving to the parking-lot area; rain could affect the schedule. The team discussed moving classroom contents around May 1 to facilitate interior renovations and explained that some fixtures and doors salvaged from the Ranch Heights remodel would be reused at other sites (for example, replacing a door at Wilson).
The board also previewed summer projects submitted by principals, including a request at Wilson for a built wall around an IT closet and dimmable lights in special-needs classrooms—both of which were completed during spring break. Maintenance supervisor Kyle Hendricks was identified as the district lead for transition coordination until a permanent position is filled.
No binding action was taken; staff requested approval of related purchase orders on the consent agenda to begin ordering materials for summer work.
