CIP flags sharp increase in library AC and cistern costs; committee suggests emergency funding

A late updated quote significantly increased the anticipated cost for library AC and air-handler work from about $90,000 to an estimated $250,000; the committee asked the selectboard and budget committee to review options.
CIP recommended classifying the library cistern replacement as an emergency. The committee suggested using about $29,000 from the library emergency fund and $17,000 from the library capital reserve fund — a combined estimated $46,000 — and proposed resuming a modest annual contribution to the library emergency fund (proposed $2,500/year) to ensure future readiness.
Committee members discussed moving a one-ton truck line item from municipal buildings to Parks & Recreation on the basis of primary plowing use, and suggested selling the Bobog Meeting House to reduce long-term taxpayer burden. The committee reported a modest net reduction in total recommended contributions (about $17,500) excluding the library AC increase.
