Pennsbury tweaks middle-school schedule to restore chorus access

Under the revised plan, district leaders said they can schedule vocal music and instrumental ensembles concurrently for students who choose both, enabling those pupils to have alternating-day rehearsals and at least one 40-minute rehearsal per week in each scheduled ensemble. The administration said the scenario works with revised enrollment numbers and that principals and music department leadership confirmed staffing and space feasibility.
Administration said the plan would still provide students with two additional electives and preserve enrollment in other courses; roughly 100 students across a campus were noted as taking both ensembles, and the revised scheduling approach would make ensemble participation accessible without sacrificing other course options. Several board members thanked administrators for the quick turnaround and collaborative work with principals and the music leadership team.
