Eastport-South Manor Board approves consent agenda, names treasurer and moves to executive session on personnel

At a special meeting on Aug. 14, 2025, the Eastport-South Manor CSD Board of Education approved a consent agenda that included a memorandum of agreement with the ESM Teachers Association and the appointment of Ashore Macumba as district treasurer.

"So we approved the memorandum agreement with the ESM Teachers Association," said Speaker 1, the meeting’s presiding board member, summarizing the items approved by voice vote. Speaker 1 also said the board signed an agreement to purchase outdoor seating and other equipment for district schools and approved two change orders for ongoing construction projects.

The board recorded a number of personnel items as part of consent: Speaker 1 listed seven resignations, two per-diem substitute appointments, one civil-service appointment, 23 coaching and assistant-coaching appointments, 29 supplemental-pay appointments, two club appointments, one student-teacher internship, one other employment action and a recall of employment. The transcript does not specify the names associated with all of those personnel actions beyond the treasurer appointment.

Procedurally, Speaker 2 moved to approve the July 9 minutes earlier in the meeting and Speaker 1 seconded; the board approved that motion by voice vote. Later, Speaker 1 moved that the meeting adjourn to executive session "for the purpose of personnel," and the board again voted by voice to approve the motion.

No public commenters addressed the board during the meeting, and the board deferred committee reports to its next regular meeting.
