Middle school ready for students though site work will continue, district says

Claudia, the district facilities lead, told the board that while the new middle school will be ready for students and instruction at the start of the school year, substantial exterior and site work will continue after opening.
Claudia said the district has more than $1,000,000 in projects across town-funded capital improvement and LEA-funded lists; some single projects are valued at about $500,000 and cannot be completed within the summer window. The district has started as many projects as possible and will provide a status update for each item in the capital-improvement plan.
Site work includes parking-lot reconfiguration, a new entrance in the former bus entry area, and a rebuilt soccer field that likely will not be completed for nearly a year. Staff emphasized safety and traffic planning: until the site work is finished, bus and parent drop-off circulation will be constrained and parents were encouraged to use buses to avoid delays and safety risks.
Claudia said she will report progress at future meetings and provide a more detailed update on the capital projects list.
