Student representatives highlight activities and urge reevaluation of bathroom closures

"The bathrooms are closed, and I think it's extremely, difficult for people throughout the day to simply use that resource," she said, adding that remaining restrooms sometimes lack doors or are a long walk from classes.
The student said the closures can have unintended consequences, including time lost returning to class and a perception that the measure unfairly suspends students not involved in the behavior that prompted closures. The student framed the concern as recurring across grades and backgrounds and indicated she will provide the board an update when her survey is complete.
Board members thanked the student representatives for the updates and for bringing the survey findings forward. The board did not take formal action on restroom policy during the meeting; the student said the research will be shared with the board when available.
