Councilmember David proposed a midyear check-in on the council's strategic plan at the Sept. 15 workshop and asked council to pick a date and format for an update from consultant Kelly Moore.
"We talked about building trust and public perception, our strategic priorities, governance and efficiency," David said, describing topics the check-in would revisit. He said staff envisions a half-day session to provide progress updates on action items and to re-examine priorities and leadership commitments.
Council members discussed dates and availability and expressed preferences for a morning session with time to review materials. After comparing calendar conflicts, participants converged on Tuesday, Oct. 13, with a morning start; staff proposed an 8:30 a.m. breakfast followed by a 9 a.m. start and a half-day schedule (options discussed included 8–12, 8:30–12:30 or 9–1). A council member asked staff to confirm Kelly Moore's availability before finalizing the schedule.
The check-in will be open to the public and city staff, and council asked staff to circulate topics in advance so members can submit matters they want included. Because this was a workshop scheduling discussion, the council did not take a formal vote; staff will confirm the consultant's availability and return a final agenda and start time.
