Superintendent Kirk told the board on Aug. 19 that summer construction and improvements at Caledonia Elementary, New Dutton and the high-school stadium are substantially complete and that the district is preparing fall events.
He announced a ribbon cutting and community open house for New Dutton 48 hours after the meeting, starting at 5:30 p.m., and a stadium ribbon cutting on the 26th at 6:30 p.m., with public access times noted. Kirk also said a new press box costing $35,000 had been placed on the stadium bleachers and that staff professional-development and open-house schedules were posted on the district website. The first day of school was noted as Aug. 25.
The superintendent framed the updates as celebration of facility improvements and encouraged staff and families to consult the website for schedules; no board action was required on the announcements.
